I strongly suggest you use burst-fire mode if you have a good trigger finger and can keep the weapon from oversampling. With a rate of fire of 650 rounds per minute full-auto and 750 rounds per minute in burst-fire mode, the AK-12 is at the low-middle end of Assault Rifles. It’s pretty much like reloading a bullpup carbine. The 3 second empty reload is not something you want to encounter, so keep an eye on your bullet count. The AK-12 is in the middle of the pack in terms of reload times, with a tactical reload of 2.05 seconds and an empty reload of 3 seconds. This means that you will kill an enemy with full health in 4-6 shots depending on your distance from said enemy. It does the standard Assault Rifle damage of 25 up close and 18 at a distance, with its damage dropoff starting at 8 meters and ending at 55 meters.

In Battlefield 4 the AK-12 is classified as an Assault Rifle, making it available to only the Assault class. The Russian AK-12 Assault Rifle is the newest family of rifles in the AK series, the main differences between it and its predecessors being better ergonomics.
